The Shamatha Mandala depicts the nine stages of mental development and is used in meditation. Former Tibetan monks of the Gyumed Monastery, Lobsang Tsering, Doctor of Acupuncture and Professor at SFSU, and Gedun Kalsang, a.k.a Jampa, will demonstrate the traditional techniques and materials. Workshop participants will observe and then create their own mandalas.
