Reduction Woodcut with Toru Sugita

Join us for a printmaking workshop led by master printmaker and educator Toru Sugita, a printmaker from Japan. Create a reduction woodcut in one day while learning about this revered art form!

Born in 1964 in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, Toru Sugita earned his Bachelor of Art Education from Kyoto University of Education in 1987. Residing in the USA, he works as a Professor specializing in printmaking and drawing at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California. Sugita is recognized for his work as a painter and printmaker, employing a diverse range of techniques, including etching, aquatint, silkscreen printing, and traditional woodcut carving. In the USA, he is represented by Davidson Galleries.
