Join us for an illuminating conversation between artist M. Louise Stanley and artist and writer Maria Porges as they explore works in The Real-Life Art History of M. Louise Stanley. Stanley will reflect on her five-decade practice, distinctive humor, and playful engagement with art history, mythology, feminism, and contemporary life.
Maria Porges brings the perspective of both an accomplished artist and longtime art writer whose work has appeared in Artforum, Art in America, the New York Times Book Review, and Hyperallergic. A recipient of SFMOMA’s SECA Award, Porges has exhibited widely and is a professor at California College of the Arts.
