Great Places, Great Spaces (GPGS) is a curated series of intimate gatherings at exclusive destinations filled with art, architecture, design, and epicurean excellence. This year you can explore gorgeous gardens and wine caves, view art collections and artists’ studios, and connect with other Sonoma art enthusiasts. These are just a few of the journeys you can take when you join us this year for Great Places, Great Spaces.

ARTIST AS COLLECTOR
Hosts: Sharon & Paul Gibson

Join the Gibsons for an exclusive tour of their extensive private art collection, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and a walk-through of Paul Gibson’s artist studio in Sonoma. The Gibsons began their collection in the ’80s in New York City and have acquired a diverse collection of art including pieces by Manuel Neri, Jim Dine, Andrew Schoultz, Gordon Cook, Paul Wonner, Lucian Freud, and many other great artists! Winemaker Salvador de La Cruz will pour a Gibson Merlot aged 18 months in French Oak.

ART OF THE MOMENT
Hosts: Kimberly & Simon Blattner

The dynamic duo of Kimberly and Simon Blattner are beloved in the Sonoma cultural scene. Join the Blattner’s for two tours of their wonderful art collection—Kimberly will lead a tour of stunning 3D works and Simon will reveal his prodigious collection of prints.  After 19 years running Rittenhouse Paper in Chicago, Simon and Kimberly moved to Sonoma and Simon started Eastside Editions Papermaking & Fine Art Print Studio. Simon served for over a decade on the board of Sonoma Valley Museum of Art and has lent objects for several exhibitions.

If you’ve ever wondered what they do with all that art, now is your chance! Along with the special tours of their art collections, you will enjoy delightful hors d’oeuvres paired with wines on a lovely fall evening.
