Join us for holiday fun and embrace the joy of the season through exploring resilience and hope through art! Create family picture frames that draw on folk traditions with Oaxacan artist Irma Rodriguez. Dive into upcycling with colorful weaving with artist Fei Ewald and playful recycled sculptures with educator Walt Williams. Create a seasonal gratitude ornament with Julia Megna of the Sonoma Ecology Center.
Irma Rodriguez will facilitate a Spanish-speaking art-making station in our ongoing partnership with Raizes Collective. Take in a holiday performance by youth ballet dancers from the Sonoma Conservatory of Dance and a performance of Huapango music from Mexico by Herencia Del Rey at 2:15 pm. Stay for Sonoma Plaza’s holiday lighting ceremony in the plaza at 5pm!
Also on site will be photographer Jock McDonald’s Eye to Eyes Portrait Project. Please stop by the mobile photo studio and add your face and voice to this living archive of our Sonoma community. Click here for more info.
