SILENT & LIVE AUCTION GUIDELINES & RULES
- Payment for all items purchased during the Silent and Live auctions will be made at the Cashier’s table after the close of the final auction unless the lot is purchased in advance according to the pre-event "Buy-It-Now" guidelines. You may pay with credit card (Master Card or Visa only), check or cash. Payment in full must be made the evening of the purchase, unless otherwise indicated. Purchasers requiring early checkout should stop at the Cashier’s table prior to departure.
- All sales are final, and all items are sold “as is,” unless otherwise specified.
- Items may be picked up by exhibiting a paid receipt at the time of departure.
- All
auction items must be removed from the auction venue at the end of
the evening, unless alternative
arrangements are made.
- Values set forth opposite some items being auctioned are estimates only and are not warranted by Sonoma Valley Museum of Art for tax purposes or for general value.
- The
auction committee has attempted to catalog and describe all items
correctly based on information provided by the donors. Neither Sonoma Valley Museum of Art nor any volunteers associated with Wet
Paint warrants or represents, and shall in no event be responsible
for the correctness of description, genuineness, authorship,
provenance or condition of any item offered in auction. No statement
contained in this catalog or made orally at the sale or elsewhere
shall be deemed to be a warranty, representation or assumption of
liability.
- It is the responsibility of the winning bidder to schedule all trips, excursions and activities. All reservations for auction item activities must be mutually arranged between purchasers and donors. Purchasers are requested to contact donors as soon as feasible following Wet Paint to schedule their events. All auction item activities and services must be used within one year after August 1, 2009 unless otherwise specified.
- All experiences sold at the auction are to be undertaken at the sole risk of the purchaser. Sonoma Valley Museum of Art shall not be or become liable in any way for any loss, injury or damage to or in respect of any person or property, howsoever caused or arising.
- Sonoma Valley Museum of Art reserves the right to withdraw or modify any item for sale prior to the call for bids.
SILENT AUCTION GUIDELINES & RULES
- All items in the silent auction with the exception of art works have a "Buy-It- Now" option for
purchase prior to the event. To "Buy-It- Now" please call Sonoma Valley Museum of Art to place a bid equal to or higher than the "Buy-It-Now" price. Upon your payment that item will be closed to further bids. In appreciation of our donors, the lot will still be displayed at the event with a "Sold" designation showing the "Buy-It-Now" price and winning bidder. - The opportunity for pre-event "Buy-It-Now" bidding will end at 5 PM on Thursday, July 30th to prepare for the event. Silent auction bidding will re-commence at Wet Paint.
- Silent auction lots are subject to change or may be withdrawn at any time prior to the event. Buy now purchasers should confirm that there have been no changes to the lot by either checking this website or calling SVMA.
- All items in the silent auction have bid sheets attached or affixed nearby. Persons desiring to bid must do so by writing in their Bid Number and Name next to the desired Bid Amount.
- For items offering a "Buy-It-Now" bid at the event, a bidder may at any time prior to the close of the auction purchase the item for the full price or higher by writing his or her bid number and name in the Buy-It-Now Bid box.
- All items in the Silent Auction may be bid upon until the sections are officially closed, except as described above for guaranteed bid purchases. Bidders in process may complete writing their bids.
- Under no circumstances may the Bid Sheet be removed from the Bidding Table.
