1. Each artist may submit images of two works of art. Selections will be made from digital images. All selected work must be ready for hanging with hangers and wire attached. Works must be no larger than 10 by 10 feet.
2. Artists are to submit no more than one image for each 2-dimensional work or two images for each 3-dimensional work.
3. Digital images are assumed to be accurate representations of actual works; the jurors and SVMA will exercise the right to reject any accepted work not accurately represented by the slide or digital image.
4. Artists shall grant the SVMA permission to photograph for publicity purposes only. Do not include resumes or other materials with your applications. The jurors will review images only. |

Artists may enter a maximum of two entries for the entry fee of $25. All fees are non-refundable. The Entry Fee may be charged by including the credit card information on the application or by calling SVMA at 707-939-7862; or mailing a check that includes the name of the submitting artist and phone number. Shipped Work
Artists must ship prepaid by UPS only. SVMA is not responsible for work damaged during shipment. SVMA provides insurance from the time of receipt of artwork until the close of the exhibition when the artwork is shipped or picked up.

Susan Cummins has had a broad involvement in the visual art world for the last 35 years, starting with work in a pottery studio, doing street fairs, running The Firework - a retail shop on a little alley in Mill Valley - and continuing through the years with the development of the Susan Cummins Gallery into a nationally recognized venue for regional art and contemporary art jewelry. Currently, she spends most of her time working with a private family foundation called Rotasa and as a board member of the Art Jewelry Forum, the California College of the Arts and the American Craft Council.
Michael Schwager is Professor of Art History and Museum Studies and Director of the University Art Gallery at Sonoma State University. He
holds a BFA from the California College of Arts and Crafts and an MA in
Museum Studies from JFK University. Prior to his tenure at Sonoma State, Michael held positions at the San Francisco Art Institute, the Richmond Art Center, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the di Rosa Preserve. While he has worked with artists from across the United States and beyond, his primary focus has been on modern and contemporary Bay Area art, about which he has organized numerous exhibitions.
Frances McCormack is an Associate Professor in the Painting Department at the San Francisco Art Institute. She received a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts and an MFA from University of California at Berkeley. She is the recipient of the first San Francisco Art Institute Faculty Residency at the American Academy in Rome, three Buck Foundation individual artist grants and a Djerassi Residency. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including a mid career survey at the Palo Alto Art Center, Aurobora Press in San Francisco and Associação Alumni, Sao Paulo, Brazil. She lives and works in Sonoma CA and is represented by Elins Eagles-Smith Gallery in San Francisco and the R.B. Stevenson Gallery in La Jolla, CA.

Notification to artists
Artists will be advised if their work was accepted by email. Please provide a self addressed stamped envelope if you would like to receive notice by mail.

Artwork delivery
Artists who have been selected by the jury may ship artwork to arrive anytime on or before Monday August 24th. Hand delivered artwork will be accepted Monday, August 24th or Tuesday August 25th between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm. Work will not be accepted after August 25th unless arrangements have been made in advance.
